The line of 209 Sentinel devices are Ultra-Reliable Rapid Deployment Perimeter Defense Trip Alarms
Our line of 209 Sentinel devices are highly dependable, easy-to-use trip alarms designed for perimeter defense and security. The device uses a 209 primer to make a loud noise when activated. The noise alerts you and hopefully scares off whatever or whoever activated the device.
They're an essential addition to any preparedness kit, bug-out bag, or training inventory—helping you quickly secure an area, alerting you to potential intrusions.
Proven Design and Real-World Heritage
The original 209 Sentinel was created at the request of the ATF as a training tool. It performed exceptionally at the 2016 ATF Raven’s Challenge. Every aspect was thoughtfully engineered in CAD with direct input from Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) personnel who brought real-world experience to the design. The result is a simple, rugged, and effective device you can trust when it matters.
This version builds on the success of the original with several practical upgrades:
Lightweight and Durable Construction
Made from high-quality PETG plastic, it’s strong, impact-resistant, and holds up well against chemicals and prolonged sun exposure.
- Lighter than the original, yet more versatile and more affordable.
- Stainless steel springs and plunger pins — chosen for their exceptional longevity and corrosion resistance.
- Included accessories: Comes standard with a sturdy removable metal stake and a multi-mount backing plate for maximum flexibility.
Extremely Versatile Mounting Options
You can deploy the 209 Sentinel almost anywhere your imagination takes you
- Stake it in the ground
- Screw it to surfaces
- Tie or zip-tie it
- Hang it from a nail
This adaptability makes it perfect for trails, campsites, gates, doors, buildings, temporary perimeters, etc.
Simple and Safe to Use
Safety and ease of use were top priorities during development. Here’s the straightforward loading process:
1. Pull the spring-loaded plunger back and tilt it slightly so it rests securely on the built-in support bracket (this holds it open for you).
2. Insert the pull pin.
3. Lower the plunger slowly onto the pull pin — it is now safe to load the primer
4. For an extra level of safety, you can insert a second pin through the body using the provided holes under the plunger. This will prevent setting off the primer even if the pull pin is accidentally removed
See the demonstration videos to walk you through the process visually.
Important Safety Note
The 209 Sentinel line of alarms are designed to be used exclusively with 209 and 209 MZ primers only. They are **NOT** intended for use with live ammunition, blanks, or any explosives. The device was engineered to not be readily modified or used with those types of items. These devices are fun but remember they are not a toy.
CAUTION
- Make sure device is empty prior to manipulation
- Never fire device while holding it in your hand
- Don't deploy the device at ear or eye level
- Mount the device securely before use
- Insert pin without wire tension in the plunger before loading or unloading
- Use the backup plunger block pin when loading or unloading

- Utilize hearing protection (209 primer detonation decibel rating between 90-115 dB)
Whether you’re preparing for emergencies, securing property, conducting training exercises, playing airsoft or paintball, LARPing, or simply want peace of mind in the outdoors while camping, the 209 Sentinel alarms deliver dependable performance in a simple, effective package.
